🌍 Contributing to the global EWB movement


Last month, Kristina Teppo, President of Engineers Without Borders Luxembourg, took part in the three-day Engineers Without Borders International Strategy Workshop in Hyderabad, India.

The workshop brought together the EWB International Board of Directors and the Delivery Team to align on priorities for the coming years, including strategic direction, collaboration frameworks, and ways to strengthen our collective impact across the global EWB network.

During the visit, participants also had the opportunity to see a community project supported by EWB-India, focused on providing a safe and supportive environment for women and girls in vulnerable situations. The initiative combines essential infrastructure solutions – such as renewable energy systems – with education and long-term community support, demonstrating how engineering can create a meaningful and lasting social impact.

✨EWB Christmas Market Get-together ✨


Last week, current and new members of Engineers Without Borders met for an informal get-together at the Christmas market. We enjoyed having a drink together and appreciated that the founders could join us.

We talked about our recently completed mission and our plans for the coming year, learned more about the history of EWB Luxembourg — which is now already 12 years old — and appreciated the fresh perspectives brought by new faces. A relaxed and valuable evening of exchange.

EWB Luxembourg Quarterly Meeting – October 2025

This week, we held its Quarterly Meeting at the University of Luxembourg – Kirchberg Campus. The session offered a valuable opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and reflect on ongoing projects.

One of the highlights was the presentations for our Cameroon Circular Economy Project ♻️, covering topics from low-tech biochar production to plastic brick machine optimization. The discussions sparked many new ideas and plans for the coming months.

💚 It was wonderful to welcome both new and familiar faces. We thank all participants for their contributions, insights, and energy — your engagement continues to drive our projects forward.

Guest Lecture: Circular Economy & Waste Management 🌍

This week, Engineers Without Borders Luxembourg had the honor of welcoming Dr. Oec. Patrick L. Dorvil, Senior Sector Economist at the European Investment Bank, for a lecture on circular economy and waste management.

The event brought together master’s students from the University of Luxembourg (originally from Cameroon), along with members of EWB Luxembourg, both in person and online. Under the supervision of Dr. Dorvil, the students have now begun their work, contributing to our Cameroon Circular Economy Project – Plastic Waste Management as part of their academic program.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Dorvil for sharing his expertise and for guiding the next generation of engineers, as well as to the University of Luxembourg for supporting this collaboration. This initiative strengthens the bridge between academia and practical field projects, helping to advance sustainable waste management solutions in Cameroon.

Circular Economy – Guest Lecture by Dr. Patrick L. Dorvil (EIB)

Engineers Without Borders Luxembourg is honored to host Dr. Patrick L. Dorvil, Senior Sector Economist at the Projects Directorate of the European Investment Bank, for a 45-minute lecture on circular economy and waste management.

This presentation marks the start of a collaboration with master’s students, who will contribute to our Cameroon Circular Economy Project – Plastic Waste Management as part of their academic program.

🌍 Plastic Recycling Workshop – Turning Waste into Purpose ♻️

We recently organised a hands-on plastic recycling workshop, to explore creative, small-scale solutions for tackling plastic waste.

🙏 We extend our sincere thanks to Marc for hosting the event, assembling the injection machine and shredder, and designing and machining the mould. His technical contribution and generous support were essential to the success of the workshop.

We also thank all the participants for their energy, curiosity, and teamwork throughout the day.

At EWBLu, we continue to develop and share practical, sustainable technologies to address global challenges. We welcome new volunteers, whether in engineering, communications, or project support, as well as partners and sponsors interested in helping us scale up initiatives like this.
